GeoSpatial processing in DataLever
The Geocoder is the core component for geographic identification—the matching of entities based on location. The Geocoder also supports matching of entities or locations to geographic zones that have been associated with other attributes (for example, risk, association, or ownership).
DataLever's Geocoder converts a free-form address into a normalized form and appends latitude and longitude, county and state FIPS code, tax jurisdiction, and census tract and block number. Intelligent fuzzy-matching overcomes missing data or data-entry errors such as typographical errors and incorrect abbreviations.
The Geocoder is configurable to use any geographic database. The Geocoder's address-parsing patterns use DataLever's pattern-matching tools, so address parsers for new locales can be rapidly developed and integrated.
